Planning an oil-to-gas heating conversion

Confirm gas availability with the utility serving the property before treating a conversion as a straightforward equipment replacement. The utility connection and the heating installation are separate parts of the project.

Who confirms whether gas is available?

Your gas utility. If PSE&G serves the property, its conversion process starts with its Energy Solutions team. If another utility serves it, ask that provider. Air Zone’s location does not establish which utility serves your address.

What belongs in the installation scope?

Ask about replacement equipment, interior gas piping, venting, controls, and any electrical changes. Separately confirm responsibility for oil tank work, removal, utility coordination, and required approvals.

Should I choose a furnace or a boiler?

First identify the existing heating system and what you intend to retain. Include whether heat is distributed through ducts, hot-water radiators, baseboards, or steam radiators. Ask Air Zone to confirm which conversion scope it can provide.

These notes help you prepare an inquiry. Equipment selection, price, scheduling, and the work Air Zone can provide must be confirmed for your property.
